T-Shirt
Contents |
Topic
On June 17th Wikipedia Day will take place. We need a medium to designate the people from the Verein. My (Robins) suggestion is do print T-Shirts with a Wikimedia CH logo and a slogan.
see: Tasse
There already exist T-shirts with a German text [1] or English text [2]. Both the English and the German shirts lack of fantasy - it's just a blank Wikipedia logo printed on one side. There had been a discussion about a clever t-shirt though but nothing really ever happened [3]. The shirts already available are too expensive to be resold.
Time frame
Unlike discussions in Wikipedia we need a quick decision. I suppose May 31th 2006 is a date where we should have a decent design. That takes two working days for purchasing and two weeks for producing and shipping.
Manufacturer
I (Robin) propose funshirt.ch since I already know the manufacturer and its quality which is very good. The price is reasonnably low (CHF 12.61+freight) for a badge with 80 shirts. In this price 10 colors or places (front, back, side) are included. Please tell if you know a cheaper manufacturer.
Proposals-logo
- Wikimedia CH
- pros personalized for us
- cons not usable with Wikimedia Germany, not according to [4], the CH-line makes the logo print smaller
- Wikimedia
- pros usable together with Wikimedia Germany
- cons no connection with Switzerland
- Wikipedia
- pros well known
- cons hard to print, no connection with the Verein
I vote for "Wikimedia CH" as the Logo since we want to designate ourselves als members from the Swiss Verein -Robin Schwab
Proposals-URL
Shall we have the Wikipedia/Wikimedia URL on the shirt? www.wikimedia.ch?
I (Robin) am open to have the URL on the shirt in a small text. But if everyone knows that "we are a homepage" it's not neccessary. What do you think? --Robin Schwab
I talked to Manuel he thinks the shirt might be overloaded with printed arms. But Jürg S thinks that these are good and we could print the URL on the other arm of the shirt. As we pay for color I think we should try it with the text on the arms. --Robin Schwab 01:05, 1 June 2006 (CEST)
Proposals-design
Note: We can print 32x40 cm on the back and front side and 12x13 cm on the "Ärmel". Proposals should have a resolution of 300 dpi.
