I begin specifications for the WMCH web site. Corrections, suggestions are welcome. Ludo 11:30, 17 January 2011 (CET)

Goal

• a tool for communication with :
  • external partners
  • our members
• a tool to explain who we are : for journalists, for prospects, for members
• a place to explain the problematic of money (why, how)
• a place to explain our projects and invite people to take part
• a tool for the presentation of wikimedia projects in term of "swissness"
• but no priority to collaborative tool between members of association, as we have a wiki for members for that

Characteristics

The website must be:

• multilingual : All pages in 5 languages : english, french, german, italian, rumantsch
• open-source CMS : Mediawiki if possible but not an obligation
• easy to handle, easily up-datable
• nice look!
• Swiss, this is the site of the Swiss chapter, not every chapter (good example WMFR, bad example WMDE)

It should reflect and promote the visual identity of Wikimedia.ch.

One for :

First group

• presentation of the association (goals, objectives, partener)
• board : presentation of each member with photo. How they make for Wikimedia's project and in their real life
• members : Who are they ? Few presentation of member (with their agreements)
• How become a member ?
• bylaws

Second group our actions

• partnership
• actions
• Sponsor and benefactors

• Press-area : with contacts, press release, etc.
• Library : Books writed by and on Wikimedia's project in all national languages (+ english))

• Contact : for each community (language)

• one with swiss blog talk about Wikipédia, free contents and free licences

The design must be suitable for our communication:

• communication leaflets
• etc.

It is a vector of communication allowing anyone to recognize us.

What content ?

Now

Now we have information about recent projects and a presentation of the association. There is too much content. The reader is invited to focus on information he wants. There isn't image picture.

Future (there is proposition) 

• Little focus of few projects
• short presentation of the association with a link for a larger page

Various

• a little job on http://portal.wikimedia.ch/wikipedia/ for the same graphic appearance
