Type of Support

Scholarships

• Budget 2012: 25.000 CHF (see Projects)

Requirements to get support:

• event must be approved by the Community Support Committee first (see list below)
• applications must be submitted one month prior the start of the event (see deadline in list below)
• applicant must provide the following information to the Community Support Committee (data will be handled confidentially):
  • real name and username
  • Why do you want to get support?
  • What is the benefit if WMCH provides you with a scholarship - for the event and for Wikimedia in general?
  • list and amount of expenses (approximately)
• payment of scholarships will be done as reimbursment after handing in the receipts
• only expenses with original receipts will be reimbursed
  • train tickets (2nd class)
  • car: 0,30 CHF per Km (direct route)
  • plane tickets (economy / discount airlines)
  • accommodation (cheapest option provided by the event organisers)

Event Sponsoring

• Budget 2012: 5.000 CHF (see Projects)

Requirements to get support:

• must be either in the german, italian or french speaking area or within Switzerland
• must be either an event organised by the Wikimedia community or about free knowledge
• organiser must provide a receipt for sponsoring (invoice to Wikimedia CH)
